I think I whined a lot...because within a few days, he had booked us a long weekend away in the country. Right now we cant get away for longer than a weekend, so a long weekend would have to do. He booked us in at the pet-friendly Stone Hill, just an hour away from us. Our first holiday as a family of four.
I must admit, I was a little apprehensive going away with the pups - worried that we would spend the time running after them, keeping them in check. But, oh boy was I wrong. Stone Hill, is the most awesome place for pets and humans...it was just perfect and beautiful
We spent the weekend...never leaving our log cabin, except to take the dogs on walks. We lived in track suits, we napped, we read, we ate...we had farm fresh bread delivered to our front door. We fed the local ponies that visited our door three times a day. We had a fire going all day. We just did nothing.
As short as it was, it was exactly what I needed...and I don't know who had a better time, us or the pups.
PS. Henry was besotted with those ponies...

I think everyone needs this kind of holiday once in a while! Not too much planning involved - the planning tends to add more stress sometimes

Oh my word! Look at that pony/dog interaction. I think our Rufus would not be able to stop barking. We would love that place - my kids would go bananas about those ponies
