We woke up to an unusually quite house...no kids screaming, no madness...just the two of us. And while I will always choose the madness and the excitement of kids over the quietness...there was something still and peaceful about our Christmas morning...I loved it.
We opened presents, we drank tea and ate Christmas cookies, played Christmas carols all morning long, we napped, we spoke to our families, we prepped the food for the big Christmas lunch...it was a good morning...
We were graciously invited to spend Christmas lunch with our friends. We are so lucky to have these people in our lives...their families have become our friends.
It was an amazing day. Thank you, Dale and Kerri for inviting us into your beautiful home this Christmas Day.
This day turned out be way more sweet, than bitter. How very blessed we are...

two Christmases ago (2010) was the first year the hubby and I were by ourselves (although for the whole day, not just the morning!) and I was worried about it too - but it turned out to be a wonderful, quiet, beautiful day. Glad you got to experience some of that too!
Look fantastic and love the pic of Elvis with his bone
