When we bought this house, the thing I loved the most, was its wooden cottage paned windows. And, much to everyones disgust, I couldn't wait to get a coat of white paint on them. Everyone we spoke to, tried to convince us not to do it, and that we would regret it...but my gut was telling me to go for it.
I am so glad we did. Except...once we had done the windows, the wall colour looked terrible, so we changed that. And then once we had done that, the roof, with its green gutters looked even worse. So we bit the bullet and did everything...needless to say we are now broke...
But, I am in love with how it's looking...I love the grey and white...
Please excuse these pictures...not the greatest...but here you go....
I am so in love with our little house...

Now that is what I call a makeover...beautifully done.
The photos show off your house well!
So gorgeous.
When we painted our farmhouse 2 years ago, I also painted the cottage pane windows white - and everyone was horrified. But how much better does it look?
And now that i'm painting egte oregan pine kitchen cupboards cream - can you imagine the flack i'm getting?
Your house is so divine and each time I see what you've done i think again hhow well we would get on in real life as we have SUCH similar taste!
Looks really really good.
STUNNING! That is all! STUNNING!
Gorgeous, Hayley! It looks amazing. You proved everyone wrong because you're one of those people who can see the finished product before you start :-)
Gorgeous Hayley. Watch my space for some exciting news coming up ...:)
It looks absolutely gorgeous!
Looks beautiful. You know that people are very mistaken when they restore old houses (Victorian era and earlier) to take off the paint. Most wooden windows were painted to protect them from the weather.
