Last night after work, TF and I caught the train into Sandton to hook up with friends for a quick, impromptu dinner. We had a quick drink at the Nelson Mandela Square, before taking a leisurely walk to another mall for dinner.
Once again, doing something different, opens your eyes to so many new things. The amount of pedestrians and tourists that were walking about in the late evening was so awesome to see. And this was not in a mall, or in a square, this was on the streets of the Sandton CBD.
We caught the bus back to the station...and hopped on the seven o'clock train home.
Back in our lounge...all before eight o'clock....and on a week night.
From July, the extended network opens up...we now have easy, quick and safe access to all over Jozi and Pretoria. One of these days we will literally be popping out for dinner in Pretoria...it's crazy!
We are loving this new normal.

Heh - the captcha word for me is "nessing". Just fyi.
Yes - isn't clean and safe public transport - absolutely amazing? Am SO glad you guys have the benefit of that. My hubby has been on the Gautrain a few times when he has flown into JHB to see clients etc - but I haven't. I'm just glad that some things (like this in particular) are coming *right* in SA.
That's really awesome! Do a lot of people use it?
I'm dying to take a spin on the Gautrain!
It is awesome! I have only been on it a couple of times but it is amazing. We located our Jo'burg office in Sandton because of it and the ease to get there from the airport.
Oh wow, I wish they would build one here for us in cape town!!
Love the pics!!
Stunning!! Doesn't help me in the slightest... I'm on the other side of town
Now if only Auckland could get its act together and do something similar!!
You always make everything look and sound so stunning...gorgeous photos my dear.
We here in the PTA area can't wait for July to come. We too want this Normal of yours :)
