So this morning we decided, to take advantage of the last of these summer days...and we took a stroll through our new neighborhood...and thought I would take the camera along so that I could show you around.
This is our street and some of the neighbouring streets...I love that fact that we live in an old suburb, it is filled with massive green trees, parks and there are families of all ages constantly about.
Our town is bordered by lakes on the west side....and just down the road from us, is one of them. I remember going there in my school days, but had kinda forgotten how awesome it is down there...
On weekends and in the evenings, there are people jogging, fishing, picnicking, walking their dogs...
Not to bad for a little town on the east rand hey? I can see us spending lots of evenings and weekends down there in the future...
I really do love this place...

There is something about the 'old' neighbourhood's hey. So much history.
Beautiful Hayley, I can just see that you are going to be very happy here.
Is that the Jukskei river Hayley? It looks absolutely gorgeous...I love areas with lots of trees and shade. My brother lives in Jukskei Park and the area looks very similar.
GORGEOUS lake!
I am kind of ashamed - I have NEVER been for a walk around these parts. Oh, wait - once just before IVF1, we took a walk to Debonairs :)
What a beautiful area! You're going to have to tell me where that is so I can add it to my location arsenal
@Lynette...nope its not, its on the other side of Jozi, East Rand.
@Jenty...its a bit far from your side of the world :-)
Its in Benoni...this one is called Homestead
How far are you from Midrand? (my bff lives in midrand ... this is a funny little tidbit. Jeannette who comments on here knows my bff cos she's photographing her baby's first year. I found Jeannette's site through your page and told her she had to use her!!)
anyways I foresee some wonderful evening walks around your neighbourhood and the summer braais are gonna be more than lekker. Old neighbourhoods have so much charm.
