We've been back to the 80's and 90's...and having so much fun.
Wednesday night we relived our very first clubbing days and headed to the Back 2 Cool concert. Where Snap, Vanilla Ice and MC Hammer were performing...I know...so funny. We actually went just to see Snap...I mean how can you not remember classics like: Rhythm is Dancer, The Power and Oops Up. Oh my word, the memories...
Snap and dare I say it, Vanilla Ice were brilliant...MC Hammer...ummm...not so much. I think its time he retired for good.
Oh what a night...everybody say upala...
And then on Friday...we had the absolute honour of going to see the legend himself...Mr. Johnny Clegg.
We've been dying to see him live...and when we heard he was hosting his 30th anniversary shows...we jumped to buy tickets. I knew it would be an amazing show...what I didnt realise was what an emotional concert it would be.
Not only is a great singer, but is story telling is incredible. We all sat with lumps in our throats the whole way through...especially through such greats, such as: Spirit of the Great Heart, Impi, African Sky Blue, Scatterlings of Africa, The Crossing...and so many more, that we all grew up with.
His songs and stories, remind me again why I love this continent so much.
He is truly one of South Africa's greatest sons...and I am so thankful that I finally got to see him.
So these party animals, are all partied out...it's a tough life rocking it out like we have....especially at this age :-)

OH my hat - Rythym is a dancer - was like the IT song back then :) As for Johnny Clegg, he is probably the only local musician that REALLY speaks to my SOUL. I love Spirit of the Great heart, and of course Impi as well. Scatterlings might also make me cry early next year...
Gosh but you two get around! What a great life you have xx
Wow, quite the party animals you are! Aren't you completely exhausted today tho? I just boogie away for one night and i'm buggered for the next week!
