Soccerlessness and husbandlessness.

That's what I am suffering from...not only no more soccer....but even worse the husband is away in Cape Town till Friday.

So, besides the World Cup...what's been happening in our lives and in my head...
  • Well to start...it's damn cold! I know it's winter...but this is crazy. I have just phoned my Dad and asked him please see if he can pop out and get me a cheap little bar heater.
  • And if you are wondering why we do not have heater...well we did...a gas one. Until three weeks ago...I then set my self alight....yes seriously...and quiet badly. I was trying to get close to the heater {I know..I know...stoopid}, and all of a sudden my gown caught a light. Huge flames! I could not get it out and had to scream to TF {the husband} for help. The poor man, had to put it out with his hands....twice. We couldnt get my gown off, there were flames and smoke everwhere. So, so, so scary! We were both covered in ash, he suffered such bad burns on his fingers. I cant believe he didnt even flinch...he just did everything he can to help me. I heart him so much!
  • So hence a new heater...I am now too scared of the big gas one!
  • And on the subject of my amazing husband...he sent me flowers to work last week...fo no reason what so ever. I heart him so much!
  • I am trying desperately to not take things so personally...every time I read or hear something that goes against what I think...I take it as a personal attack...I am driving myself mad.
  • And then on the other side...I hate confrontation, and I am often to scared to voice my opinion, so I keep quiet...I wish I didn't care so much what people think. It affects what I blog about, what I say on twitter and facebook.
  • And while I am on the subject of twitter....I think I could be addicted. I have been trying to quit...but I just can't...I NEED to know whats going on in the world...and with Twitter it is immediate...you hear everything first....oh what to do!
  • We have two holidays planned for August....can.not.wait.
  • OMG...its cold.
  • Went to see Eclipse...I think it's the best movie so far. I still think you have to read the books before you see the movies, to truly appreciate them.
  • We have purchased our rugby tickets for the SA vs NZ game at the National Stadium...going to be another awesome day.
  • Did I mention the cold?
  • I have also decided to start making an effort to start doing new stuff around Joburg. You know how it goes, you land up doing the same 'ol, same 'ol...so the friends and I have made a pact to start living like a tourist in our own city...and do things they would do. So here's to showing all you guys some spots in and around Jozi!
  • We've also got ourselves a new Canon camera, so I am trying to learn how to use it properly. Any advice is welcome.
  • I am also thinking of doing something creative on the side...I have always wanted to, just never had the guts to do it. Thinking about it seriously now.
Clearly you can see the husband is away...as I have no one to talk too...enough from me now...I am even getting tired of listening to me....till next time...

PS. Its still cold!

Okay - make sure you don't take my *I heart emigrating* attitude personally okay? ;) I'm not offended in the slightest by your *everything is rosy* attitude about SA. Tee hee!

Yikes and I thought it was an Afrikaner thing...that being scared of confrontation thingy.

So glad you did not get burned...I also tend to climb into the heater...so I will be more careful in future.

I'll trade you some of your chillier weather for this 110 degree heat with 100% humidity we're having right now. I can't even breathe outside!!

Glad you're ok after the fire thing. That's horrible!

How scary was the fire incident! Sheesh! Glad you're both (relatively) okay. Your husband sounds awesome btw - for putting it out as well as the flowers. :)

What an epic post! Your husband should go away more often so you have to talk to us! ;-)
