I love winter! Yes, I am one of those weird people who can live with winter all year round. But, I am starting to realise what an idiot I am...can I just tell you how freezing it is in Joburg at the moment! It is unbelievable. I seriously think this is the coldest winter we have ever had. The ground is covered in thick white frost in the mornings, and I have had to de-ice my car every morning this week. This weekend we spent it inside, under blankets, on the couch, in front of the TV.
Let me tell you, us Africans are not built for this kinda weather...it is seriously just not in our genetic make up. However, that said, no matter how cold it is, you ain't gonna stop us from
braaing! Nope, it can be zero degrees outside, and this is where you will find us...having a good 'ol SA braai....madness I tell you, but there is nothing better.

Hope you are all keeping warm, and having an awesome weekend. And to my US friends, hope you had a
fabulous 4th!

I don't know what a braai is.. Please enlighten me! Hope you had a good weekend!
When we renovated we came up with the perfect solution. An indoor braai. Now no matter the weather we braai! Perfect on these cold winter days as it warms the room too.
like the pic of the 2 of you, your hair looks stunning
I hate cold weather...if I could I would be a bear and go into hibernation through the winter:) Lekker braai!
i love that pic of the 3 of you!
and a braai is a bbq. a south african obsession.
a braai is where the man does all the work.....
I have to tell you Haley, I live in New England where its supposed to get really cold and snowy but I'm not built for it either! Sor far our summer has been cold and rainy, and last night I found myself with two shirts and a sweater on, in July, one of the hottest months of the year ... supposedly.
Never heard the word braaing before but it's kinda cool! Now that our rain seems to have FINALLY stopped maybe we can do some braaing of our own!

Lekka! Lekka! Made me Very homesick for a Braai!! I always thought I was a winter person but living in Edinburgh for the last 2 1/2 years has made me crave the sun! So much so that I just 5 days in 39 degree heat in Seville and didn't hate it! It was hot, but it felt good to be warm. My bones have been cold for too long!
