On pumpkins and postboxes.

Before we left for the US, I had a long list of things that I had to buy...two of these things did not go down well with the hubby. First was a typical US mailbox, and the second was canned pumpkin.

The post box I have always just wanted, and the pumpkin...well we don't get canned pumpkin here, and I always just wanted to make a pumpkin pie from canned pumpkin...just like all my recipes tell me too {I know, even as I type that, I am thinking 'weirdo'}...

TF was adamant, that there was no way we were going to carry a postbox and canned pumpkin half way around the world.

Mmmm....

Fast forward to one day Maine, where I stumbled across the perfect mailbox in Crate & Barrel. I just could not resist...and I can still see the look on my hubby's face as I skipped across the parking lot, with this baby under my arm...
Now I am just waiting for the white picket fence, and she is going up...

That very same day, we popped into a Whole Foods, and not only did I find canned pumpkin but I found them in the cartons {priced 3 for 2...bargain}...which I quickly convinced TF would be way much lighter than the canned option.
They are still lovingly packed away in the pantry...waiting for the perfect pumpkin pie recipe...

As ridiculous as I knew it was, I am so glad I bought these back home...
