Bless the rains down in Africa...

Every year, us Joburgers {in fact the whole of the Highveld} wait with anxious breath for our very first rain. Not only does it signal the end of Winter...but literally over night...like some one switches on a switch...Jozi transforms. The gold dust is washed away....and everything turns a brilliant green...
And boy...did the rains come...along with lightening, thunder and hail...in true Highveld form. There is nothing quite like a Highveld thunderstorm...simply spectacular.

Jozi is about to put on her pretty...and I cannot wait.

I couldn't sleep last night because of the rain! I thought our house was going to be flooded! hahaha

But I'm so happy that it not just rained, but poured, no I don't have to water my garden!

Today was also quite gloomy, I just wanted to get in bed and cuddle, and have hot chocolate!

Yay...I heard that roads turned into rivers up there. So glad the winter is officially over.

Love that song by Toto too - I can smell the rain when I hear it! I can't wait for Jozi to put on her pretty too and you're right - it suddenly looks as though God has taken out His paintbox and brightened things up a bit! It's a fabulous time of the year! Just have to remember to unplug the modem - been struck by lightening twice and it's such a nuscience!
