Olympic Fever.

So, just like most households these days, we have been struck with Olympic fever...that's all we watch, all day. We are loving it.
And as a nation, we have already have had some amazing moments...and have done so well. But my top three moments have to be these....

Witnessing Chad, beating the best Olympian ever...priceless. But seeing him break down in tears on the podium during our National Anthem...was without a doubt one the most moving moments of my life. He had a nation in tears along side him.

And then how can I not mention, the one and only Bert le Clos...I think most of us have seen this video clip a hundred times already. And it never gets old...seeing a parent so proud of their child...enough said. And he is just so typically South African...love it!

But...no matter how awesome it is to win gold...this for me, has to be the ultimate Olympic moment. Seeing our boy, Oscar competing in the Summer Olympics...there are no words to describe it...this is what the Olympics is all about.

As a proud South African, I am even more prouder than I possibly thought, thanks to Team South Africa...and I know each country around the world has had their 'moments' too...this is why I love the Olympics so much.

Here's to the rest of games....

You know, I was not even interested in the Olympics. The TV hasn't really been on for the past few weeks because I have been sooooo pre-occupied with stuff in my life. But once I watched that opening ceremony I was SOLD! I was soooo excited for Chad and I did cry when he was fighting back tears. And I LOVE that clip of his Dad. Warms my heart so much. LOVE hearing how his Dad talks about him. It's just beautiful. And Oscar? Eish. I get a lump in my throat every single time I see him on the track. He will ALWAYS be a winner to me. He's coming on at 21:40 I think. Am sure you are going to be watching!

The Olympic fever in the UK is just phenomenal! It is so exciting watching my three "home" teams in action... GB, SA and Zim - such inspirational people across all three!

Oh sweet Bert!!! what a proud papa. I loved that video and have seen it several times and its just 'beautiful' What a fantastic moment that was. I wish I could have seen his medal ceremony but had to resort to You Tube for that. Oscar is nothing short of AMAZING. Seriously. I just love the Olympics and I am such a proud South African watching. I get so giddy every time I see our flag waving!
