Auckland_Day 2: Six in the City.

Jet lag was in full force...awake at 04h30 on the morning of my sisters birthday...Happy Birthday Lindsay!

Every time we have been to New Zealand, one of my favourite things to do, is to head into the city. I love being in cities...and Auckland city is so pretty...she reminds me a lot of Cape Town, in fact the whole of Auckland reminds me of Cape Town. We always remark, that they could be sister cities.

So, on our second day, the six of us caught the ferry from Half Moon Bay, and headed our to the city for the day...
Auckland Harbour (or as Nicki likes to always remind us...its 'hahbah'...in NZ :-)...
And it was just as I remembered it. Nothing much had changed, except for the new additions for the recent Rugby World Cup. We spent most of the day walking up and down Queen Street, which is the main thoroughfare in the CBD. It really is a great street, lots of shops, restaurants...
Lunch time break...
And then back to more exploring...
A quick ice-cream stop, back at the harbour...
...before boarding the ferry back home...
A perfect first full day in Auckland....

LOVE all the pictures - the ones of your niece and nephew are so precious esp since I imagine they were tiny babies the last time you saw them.

And of course, I love all the grey skies. AM JEALOUS!

Your photos are perfect to show us glimpses of your day...and you don't LOOK jet lagged at all.
