3 nights in the 031 {part two}

We finally arrived in Durban, and our first stop, our home for the next few days...how lucky were we?
And then the start of a jammed packed weekend begun...you see, we had to squeeze as much Durban stuff into our short little weekend as possible...so prepare yourself...some photo overload...as usual...

First on the agenda...oh, and there was an agenda...the magnificent Oyster Box Hotel. No camera can do this hotel justice. When I heard we were going, I screamed like a little girl. I have been oggling the pages of countless magazines, whenever they have featured this place. It is truly amazing. I tried to sneak a couple of pics inside the hotel...
We had cocktails in the Lighthouse Bar, which over looks the Umhlanga Rocks lighthouse and the hotels pool area. This is the hotel were the Prince and Princess of Monaco celebrated their South African wedding, and the hotel has included the cocktail they served to their guests on the menu: Princess Charlene {*cough* a Benoni girl *cough*...just saying} Cocktail.
And this hotel did not disappoint, it was everything I imagined and more.

It was our lunch stop next...Beach Bums. A really awesome, cool little spot...loud music, good food and filled with tiny bikini clad girls to grannies in their sun hats...this is one of the reasons I fell in love with Durban.
We then made a quick detour to the mall...
We managed to have a bit of a rest before heading out to dinner. And no trip to Durban is complete without a  good curry. And boy did we have it. The most divine curry ever....
And for dessert, we popped in at Zack's, at Wilsons Wharf for their famous deep fried ice-cream.
Day one in Durban, complete.

Awesome pics of an even more awesome weekend in Durbs Hayley!!! I'm really chuffed that I got to show you the REAL Durbs...the one that I love and crave a few times a year! Of course it wouldn't have been the same without the excellent company! :-)
