Super excited about...

Yes...that's right...pumpkins. As Halloween starts to get more and more popular here in South Africa, every year...the shops are starting to stock the coolest Halloween stuff. But this year, was the first year...I spotted pumpkins...aaah, Woolies....how I love thee.

And if you're wondering, why it's weird to spot a pumpkin, its not pumpkin season at all here in the Southern Hemisphere....

But good 'ol Woolies has brought them out just for Halloween....even with instructions on how to carve it...
So at the ripe 'ol age of 36...I'll be carving my very first Halloween pumpkin this year...excited, I am!

hey, there are tons of options with pumpkins - there some great things to try. I really like the bumpy painted pumpkins here:
http://www.younghouselove.com/2010/10/puffy-paint-pumpkins-not-as-cheesy-as-it-sounds/. One year I took paper doilies and used them as a stencil on the top, so the pumpkin had this lovely detailed pattern on the top.

And Martha Stewart always has great ideas... although if this is your first year, you probably start off by carving them :) Enjoy!

here in the UAE you can buy them already carved. I'm actually contemplating doing the Halloween thing this year.

I really can not be bothered with the Halloween stuff - really just too weird for me. Give me Christmas any day!

My plan was always to celebrate every-single-holiday. I really should make this a goal for next year :)

Can't wait for the finished product!

Oh Halloween! Seeing the pumpkins makes me remember trick-or-treating when I was little.

Here in good old small town Klerksdorp, people are still unaware of other countries, thus there is no such thing as halloween! ;(
