Yes, folks...it's not your eye's deceiving you...although I wouldn't blame you if you didn't believe it either...
Those are really MY takkies...on actual tar. Yes, I got off the couch and hit the road.

After reading Bronwynne's post, about training...especially the part where she wrote "even if I manage to run 3kms in a day, it's still more training than doing nothing at all"...I decided then and there, that I just need to do this now.

So I did. All of 2kms. In 20 minutes and 21 seconds. Ridiculously slow, I know. My calves were screaming for me to stop, and I was literally wheezing at the end...you know the kind, where you are actually whistling a tune instead of breathing...yes...it was that bad.

But it's a start. Super proud of myself...and I feel good now...still wheezing a little...but I feel good.

Good job!!! I haven't done any exercise since December...so I will be joining you on the wheezing front as soon as I'm healed from M's birth!!!

Well done on getting out there and getting into exercising. I've been trying to also get fit and have started learning to run. I usually wait until I am fairly certain nobody I know would be around to recognize me. I'm sure they can walk faster than I can run ;-). One of my blogging buddies Paul (http://glossaryking.blogspot.com) is an amazingly talented athlete, I'm sure he will have some great tips to share!

Go you! I too know the pain of not having exercised for years...I walk about 3km a day now (in 1km bursts 3x) - seeing as we *walk* everywhere in our village now. Sometimes in the morning I will walk the kids to school then go on a proper 2km walk around the farms and stately homes bringing my total up to 3km, 1km, 1km which makes me feel like I've done 5km! (Though not all at once). I went to the doctor yesterday to fill a repeat prescription - and blow me down if I wasn't down 4kg already! So it just goes to show - every little helps!! Keep it up!

I read this just yesterday and I found it so inspiring (she's a runner, too!). I'm not a runner, but I love yoga and do hit the elliptical when I can. Every bit counts!
