A morning in our capital city.

Me and the BF had been literally counting down the days till the Gautrain opened up its Pretoria leg. So once it opened we quickly planned a trip to the Pretoria Boeremark {Farmers Market}. We had heard such awesome things about it...so there were no complaints from us, when, last Saturday morning, we had to catch the 5:38 train out of Rhodesfield station...
We passed through all the newly opened stations...
And passed by landmarks, I hadn't seen in a while....including my University...
The market starts at 5:00...and is done by 9:00, so you need to get there as early as possible. The market is incredible...full of fresh farm food, flowers, and good 'ol boerekos.
So, what was planned to be just an early pop-in at the market...turned out to be a fun filled morning in our capital city. Instead of heading home, we decided to grab a quick cup of coffee at Vovo Telo. I have been dying to try one of them out...and I finally did. Proud to say that this newest and fashionable little franchise is straight out of my city of birth...Port Elizabeth...all good things come from the Eastern Cape ;-)
And because it was still a bit early...we took a little tour through the city, popping in at Pretoria Boys High School. I had never been...and was in awe at the school grounds...not to shabby for a good 'ol government school hey?
And then one more stop...Duncan Yard, for some more cake...and some window shopping...
And finally, we decided to head home...back to Hatfield station...
Back past some famous landmarks...
And back to where we started...all before 12h00...
An incredible morning...exploring amazing new places. This train is truly changing our lives...

Stunning Day! Pta Boys reminds me a lot of Grey College in Bloem where I taught for many years! Lovely traditions! I must make an effort to go to the Boere Mark! It looks like a fun place to go!
