Saturday skating.

For the longest time, the eight year old in me has been dying to go ice-skating. After begging, bribing and maybe shedding a tear *for effect*, I convinced the husband and the family to finally go on Saturday.

They are all thanking me now...because let me tell you...it was way too much fun. I laughed till my belly ached...from watching my three year old nephew get on to the ice for the first time...to my sixty two year old Dad, having the time of his life...he never got off the ice...

Warning: About a million pictures to follow.

We started the day off, with a quick coffee...enjoying the warm winter sun...
Then it was time to get our skating on...tickets ready...
And because us Africans, don't usually have skates in our closets...we got to use these sexy ones...
And then it was all fun, fun, fun...
We then popped in at one of our fav restaurants...and the day got better when friends joined us for lunch...
And then ending off the afternoon at the coolest book shop ever...
And if you are wondering...yes this thirty three year old did get on the ice...it just wasn't quiet as easy as I remembered it being at eight years old...

A super fun Saturday...

Love it! Hubby is the ice skater in our little family. He is actually very good. My kids are learning every winter we go ice skating with them. I'm no good at it though. Probably should go for classes!

I love all the photos - documents all the things you did with your family so well.
This kind of activity is not something we as family love because my hubby is the only one who can skate - the rest of us fall too much.

My Teen loves skating, so we take him to the Festival Mall in Kempton Park regularly. There is a Spur right next door, and if you are lucky, you can get a booth with a view over the ice.

A year or 2 ago, i tried the skating again myself, and it was like riding a bike. It came back to me quite quickly.

Wow, looks like everyone had a ball! We went skating about 5 years ago, what fun we had!

And i just need to know - does your family get irritated with you taking so many pics? I take as many as you and they get SOOO fed up with me!

But we have to capture moments like these, don't we?

I can't believe that you got all generations there! Well done you!

And why is that every time that I visit your blog, there is yet another cool eating place? SA seems the place to visit for entertainment -am most envious!

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE ice skating. Unfortunately we don't have it here and it's been a while. i would probably be on my bottom more than on my feet.
