Cookie Memories.

Can you believe that the last time I posted a recipe for my Cookbook Challenge was January! Shocking. And what's even more shocking is how fast this year is going...

So enough procrastinating...here goes...

This recipe is very close to my heart. It's nothing fancy or mind blowing...in fact I am sure each and every one of you have the exact same recipe.

What makes it special to me, and my sister, is this is what our Mom baked for us all the time. She taught us to make them too. I remember fighting over who was going to lick the leftover condensed milk out the tin, I remember eating the cookie dough till we were sick, I remember never using cookie cutters, just squishing them flat with a fork...we still make them the exact same way.

And the tradition continues, my little nephews have been taught to bake these as well...there always seems to be a batch of them somewhere in one of our houses...

So here goes...the recipe to my Mom's Condensed Milk Cookies.
Ingredients: 6 cups of flour; 1 tin condensed milk; 500g butter; 4 teaspoons baking powder; 2 cups sugar; pinch of salt; half a teaspoon of vanilla essence.
Cream butter and sugar. Add the condensed milk. Lick the tin. Add the essence, flour, salt and baking powder. Mix well together. Bake at 200 degrees celsius until golden brown.
There you have it...my most perfect little cookies in the world.

Who knew that one small little biscuit could hold a lifetime of memories...

Perfectly easy and quick to make when kids are screaming for a treat! If fact putting them to work while making these will be even better.

YUMMMY!

I am going to have to give those a try.

My favourites also don't involve a cookie cutter. My mom used to make piped butter biscuits and dip them in chocolate. She used to try and "stock up" before the christmas holidays - try being the operative word. I ate them before they had cooled.

Oh yummy! My gran used to make them. Ok, I need to do it soon.

Not that I will manage past the cookie cutters with the Princess - she loves those things.
