"Winter is the time for comfort, for good food and warmth,...

...for the touch of a friendly hand and for a talk beside the fire: it is the time for home."
Edith Sitwell

I am sure I write a post every single year about Autumn and Winter...my favourite seasons of the year...

And this year, might just be turning into my favourite one of all time.

Our summer rains are, unseasonally, still around...which is making the leaves stay on the trees just a little longer, allowing us to witness them turning. The grass is blindingly green. The skies are cloudy and grey. The mornings are misty and dark..and the temperatures are dropping fast.
And you know this means...it's all about...staying home, roaring fires, scarves, hot chocolate, homemade breadswinter pajamas, soup, hot water bottles, boots and coats, cuddled on the couch, tummy filling roasts...
...it's just perfect...

I think this winter is going to be a good one...

after the winter we have had here (it's been brutal!), I am SOOOOOO thrilled its spring and summer will be coming soon. It's still chilly so I totally know what you are talking about:) I love how warm and cozy winter is and it is great to eat those yummy comfort foods but there's just something about spring and summer when everything comes alive!

The things that you have mentioned, is also what my winters was all about before I started my journey to health. Now I am going to experience my first winter without the food aspect. Going to be interesting.
