Me and flat shoes...

...are NOT best friends…in fact we are not even close acquaintances.

I am not flat shoe girl. I wish I was. I think it has to do with my height. I am short, so I have always worn high heels…and the higher the better. When I wear flat shoes, I feel so tiny and ‘so close to the ground’…I just feel awkward.

The only flat shoes I wear are my flip flops to the beach and my takkies {sneakers} for when I need to. Other than that, I am always in high heels.
I love my high heels. And shopping for them is a breeze. I can walk into a shop, packed to the rim with high heels of every kind…and I can immediately spot the ones that are just perfect for me. I know right away whether they will be too high, too short, or too uncomfortable. I have my high heel shopping technique down to a tee.

Now, on the other hand…flat shoe shopping scares the daylights out of me. I have no idea were to start. It sounds ridiculous, I know!
So, on Saturday...I decided that I needed to get me some flat shoes…come hell or high water. I just cannot carry on walking around in high heels anymore....so I hit the shops early...with the best intentions...

I left with these…
Not quiet what i was planning, I know…but oh so pretty *sigh*. And am thinking of going back for the black ones too.

Realising that I could not leave the mall without one pair of flat shoes. I focused and made my way into Woolworths, and bought these…

Only because I had seen them on TV…and I had taken at least a week to wrap my mind around them…and had managed to convince myself that there were not too bad.

Please tell me they are cute? What about that ruffle thing on the top?

Oh my word...why is this so darn difficult!

Oh I hear you. I have the same friendship with flat shoes. However, I just cannot wear heels all the time (especially on the farm).

So i have started buying ballet pumps - and am loving them. I am also super duper short, and becoz i'm also overweight i feel that i need to wear heels to look slimmer (yeah right!).

But i've got a few pairs of flats now and am slowly getting used to them.

My feet are too wide tho - so those very pretty woolies flats look ridiculous on my feet!

He-he Shayne..I also think it makes me look thinner :-)
I have never bought pumps...maybe I should give it a go.

Gorgeous new pair of heels Hayley! Love them. Love the flats too - the ruffles save them from being boring. I love heels but wish I could wear them more. If I'm going anywhere where I am going to need to be standing on my feet most of the time there is no way I can wear heels or not sneak a pair of flats in my bag. The balls of my feet ache too much. Does it just take training? Should I just endure the pain and eventually it will be no more? I love wearing heels. They make me feel like a lady. :)Please teach me your ways!

I have been looking for a sandle with a little heel WITHOUT a strap at the back. I have found one of two that I liked, yet some incredibly unforgiving reason they only keep them in a size 3 or a size 8 when I am a size 5.

Frustrations!!

Definitely give pumps a try, so very comfortable!

The Woolies sandals are SO fabulous! Also saw the ad, but Woolworth is 160km away.

Those heels are leaving me panting! hehe.

I would wear heels daily but the soccer moms wont dig it .... or the car-pool moms for that matter!

Being the queen of flat shoes, I am totally qualified to say that your flat sandals are very cute! But ... now, those heels are super SEXY!!! Love the colour too! I would, of course, fall and break my neck, but I would at least like to TRY walk in a pair of those sometime before I die :D

Beautiful heels...but I am honest if I say, I would never be able to wear them. Five centimeters....that is as high as I can go. I have started wearing flat shoes after back surgery 2 years ago...and love it now.

I've never visited your blog before now but this post is so cute! Wow those shoes are gorgeous - both of them! I am a flat shoe girl myself, although I LOVE the look of high heels, they just KILL my feet, so I keep them for going out to dinner in, when I'm sitting most of the time LOL! I love your collages too! {and I also love braai day lol}

They're both cute pairs of shoes! I'm seriously short and very rarely wear flats, but I have the cutest pair of flip-flops with a small kitten heel and some blingey rhinestones that I think is the perfect compromise between heels and flats.

I'm actually pretty tall and still hate flat shoes. I love my heels!!! But recently I've picked up a few pairs of flats that are cute and I'm determined to give them a chance. We shall see! I love both of those pairs of shoes you picked out.
