Family.

Thank you for all your sweet comments about my Grandpa, they mean the world to me.

It has been an emotional few days. My Mom, Sister and myself headed to PE on Saturday. We spent the weekend with my family. I must admit going back to PE is always good. We lived there until I was twelve, so have so many great memories and such a special connection with the place.

On Monday, we celebrated my amazing, sweet and so very kind Grandpa. It was a beautiful ceremony, and it was attended by so many members from our extended family that I had never met. They had the most awesome stories to tell about my Pa. It makes me smile.
I have no doubt that we will meet again. And that makes me smile even more.

Spending time with my family, once again makes me realise how lucky I am. What is about family that makes you feel like being at home?
We live completely seperate lives, we go for months and months without speaking, we live so far apart...yet there seems to be this connection. Is it as simple as been related?
When I look at them I see me...does that make sense?

Is it a blood thing?

No matter what, I have promised myself to always keep my family...my aunts, my uncles, my cousins, my immediate family, in-laws, the whole lot, as close as possible. Whether its as simple as staying in contact on facebook, or making sure we go and visit.
Because one thing is for sure...my family is irreplacable.

There is nothing quite like family...having people with shared roots are just amazing.

Once again, I'm so sorry for your loss, but so happy that you had some good down time with your family. Nothing gets me to back to being "me" better than a few days with my fam...

So very true, nothing beats family. I didn't realise you only became a Benoni girl when you were 12, so only Std 5 at Tom Newby? Really?

Oh Hayley, you've said it! Family just always have those ties that bind. I just love PE - my hubby's home town.
