hello joburg.

So, while I am sure gonna miss a lot of things about Cape Town, there are just as many things in Joburg.

Some things I cannot wait to see and do...

Friends. I will be just three hours away from my beloved Kruger National Park. Highveld afternoon thunderstorms. Popping into old friends for coffee. Proper drivers. Sorry to my Capetonian readers, but I have to agree with the rest of the South Africa, the driving in CT is really bad. Gautrain. Cannot wait to get on that thing. Family. Eastgate. Love this place. Meeting the folks for Saturday morning breakfast. Not missing any more birthdays or special occasions. The Irene Market. Spending time with my nephews. Having way too much fun at Lusito Land. Catching up with old colleagues I haven't seen in two years. Seeing the Jacarandas turn a magnificent shade of purple, exquisite. Sunday lunch with the family. The energy and excitement of living in a big city. Going to the pantomime every year at the Civic Centre. Looking for a new house to make our home.

While Joburg might not be as pretty...it sure is home to me.
And I am so glad to be back...
