So far so good...

Seen as though this is my first blog (and that I am at home sick in bed and therefore bored), I thought I would post a few posts on how we got here and introduce you to some of the people in our lives.

Thought I would start off with Francois and I and how we ended up in Somerset West.

I met the love of my life in the May of 2000. We met at a work function and I can honestly say I knew right away that, he was the one (without sounding to soppy). And that was that, we have never been apart ever since. We got engaged five months later, and married the next May, one year after meeting. Not like me at all, I always had this plan that I would date some one for at least three years before getting engaged, but I just knew that this was it!

The last seven years of marriage have been awesome, yes we have certainly had our ups and downs, thankfully many more ups than downs. We have been through a lot and learned many lessons, but through it all we have remained each others best friends.

In 2006, Francois accepted a job, knowing that the company would be relocating its head office to Stellenbosch. It has always been his dream to live the Cape. And it was a no brainer for me, the only issue was leaving the family and friends behind. I remember the day we had to tell my family, I was devastated. But I am fortunate, that my family can come and visit as often as they want, and we have been back to Joburg a few times now. Its not the same, but I have just learnt to appreciate the time we spend together. And we saw this as a new adventure in our lives...

We arrived in Cape Town, in the May of 2007, and settled in Somerset West, which we absolutely adore (will do a post on Somerset West, its such a great little town). We are 5km from the beach, mountains surround us and the wine farms, start literally just down the road. We have been here a year now, so it is starting to feel like home, I have found a job in Somerset West, so traffic is not a problem, I am 15 minutes from work. We regularly have family and friends coming to visit, which we love and appreciate so much.

So that's it in a really, really small nutshell. So far so good...
